THE MIGHTY 28th INTAKE REUNION - 2009

The year 2009 marks 40 years since we walked through the gates of Leeuwin as wide eyed young lads waiting to find out what life in naval uniform was all about. We didn't have long to wait...The powers to be that were there, knocked us down, but we got back up and stood together as one and would not, could not be broken. They tried and failed as the resolve that bonded us together would not yield. There were tears at times and ungloatable victories, but there were tears of maturity as we learned to tackle the navy life head on. Twelve months later, we were the ones that triumphed as we marched out of the gates of hell that was Leeuwin to tackle a much bigger and more complicated world, as young men with guts and determination. I would like to think that the bonds we built together there and then are as strong as they ever were.

The Reunion will only be as good as we make it with our attendance chaps. I for one am looking forward to catching up with all of my old mates from younger days. Judging by the comments I have received the vast majority of you are keen and looking forward to the celebrations.
